Booking terms
These terms apply when you book a place at a Creative Escape workshop. Please read them before you book: by booking, you’re agreeing to them. Creative Escape is run by Caroline Stokes in Hassocks, West Sussex. You can reach us any time at hello@creativeescapeworkshops.co.uk.
Booking and paying
- Most bookings are made and paid for in full on this website, through Stripe’s secure checkout, so we never see your card details. Your place is confirmed once your payment goes through, and we’ll email you a confirmation. If it hasn’t arrived, check your spam folder or email hello@creativeescapeworkshops.co.uk.
- If you book another way (by email, in person, by bank transfer or a payment link), we’ll tell you when payment is due, and your place is confirmed once we’ve emailed to say so. These terms still apply.
- Prices are in pounds, per place, and include everything the workshop page says is included.
- You can book up to 6 places at once. If you’re booking for friends, please share these terms with them.
- Unless the workshop page says otherwise, our workshops are for adults (18 and over).
- Very occasionally two people book the last place at about the same time. If that happens to you, we’ll offer you another date or a full refund straight away.
If you can’t come
Let us know as soon as you can by emailing hello@creativeescapeworkshops.co.uk.
- Up to 7 days before the workshop, we’ll move you to another date or give you a full refund, whichever you’d prefer.
- With less than 7 days to go, materials will usually have been bought for you, so we can only refund you if we fill your place. We’ll try to, and if we do, we’ll refund you in full. If we can’t, we’ll move you to another date if there’s space, or you’re welcome to send a friend in your place (just tell us their name).
- If you don’t come and haven’t told us, we can’t give a refund.
Because each workshop takes place on a set date, the 14-day cancellation period that applies to many online purchases doesn’t apply to workshop bookings. This doesn’t affect your other rights.
If we need to change or cancel a workshop
Occasionally we may need to cancel a workshop, or change its date, time or venue (for example because of illness, too few bookings or a problem with the venue). If that happens we’ll tell you as soon as we can, and you can choose another date or a full refund. If we cancel because too few people have booked, we’ll tell you at least 7 days before. When we cancel for reasons outside our control, such as illness or a problem at the venue, we can’t cover other costs, like travel you’ve booked.
On the day
- Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time. If you’re running late, let us know.
- Some workshops are held at cafés, pubs and other venues, which have their own rules. Please follow them, and any guidance we give about using the materials.
- Whatever you make is yours to take home. Please look after your own belongings.
- We sometimes take photos to share on our website and Instagram. If you’d rather not be in them, just tell us on the day.
Allergies, health and access needs
Some crafts use paints, glues, clays, wax or other materials. If you have any allergies, health or access needs, please reply to your confirmation email and tell us, so we can look after you. If someone else booked your place, please email your allergies, health or access needs to hello@creativeescapeworkshops.co.uk yourself, rather than asking them to pass them on. How we look after that information is explained in our privacy notice.
If something goes wrong
We take care to run safe, enjoyable workshops. If we break these terms or don’t use reasonable care and skill, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that’s a foreseeable result of that. We’re not responsible for loss that isn’t foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Private events
Private events are arranged with us directly by email, and we’ll agree the details, price and any cancellation terms with you in writing at the time.
Changes and the law
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you book is the one that applies to your booking. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and nothing in them affects your rights as a consumer.
